“The New World” more an idea than a place
forged from a sweltering ancient fire
the conception of inclusion
is old as the human race.
This latest assassin hides in plain sight
attacking from behind a façade of faith
the brave gave all for the gift you exploit
cowardly betraying their trust and light.
Diversity the catalyst of fantastic power
its limit remains grievously unknown
shrouded by ignorance greed and hate
freedom’s sweet nectar turned sour.
Those behind the standard of black
Humanity’s path has no place for terror
step out from oppression’s shadow
end the slaughter bring freedom back.
